As we get closer to April 1st’s “Convergence” #0, we are going to see some a bevy of announcements around the various miniseries that will make up the two-month event for DC. However, we may never see again a single sentence that can inspire as much hope in this event than the one that will follow below.

Greg Rucka will return to DC after a three year absence to write two issues of “The Question,” starring Renee Montoya, illustrated by Cully Hamner.

I’ll give you a minute to find a paper bag, breathe into it a few times, and then read the rest of this article.

Ok, then.

DC has announced the first ten (of forty) two-part miniseries that will populate their publishing line during the two-month “Convergence” event, and all of them seem to feature pre-New 52 versions of some of their most beloved characters. In addition to Renne Montoya returning, we also get a married (with kids!) Wally West, Stephanie Brown as Batgirl, the return of Donna Troy, a wheelchair-bound Oracle, Ryan Choi, and a continuation of James Robinson’s “Justice League of America.” The “Flashpoint” Universe also gets a lot of mentions, invading the lives of the pre-“Flashpoint” heroes. Also, Captain Carrot, because why not?

As rumored, Tom Peyer is returning to DC to write “The Atom,” and a bit of 2010 fan service was also done, as “Speed Force,” the discussed, but never announced, Wally West-centric book pops up for the event.

All of the solicit information, as revealed exclusively to Comic Book Resources, is below, as well as some artwork from four of the series, in addition to the image from “Titans” above.

Update: More art has been found in this post from i09, and is now included below

Also of note is that, with colored pages to show off nearly 6 months ahead of publication, this shows DC’s commitment to making this event run smoothly.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available, and, good lord, strap in.
