First Look: Pushing Daisies #1, Page 1

Over Easter Weekend, Bryan Fuller gave fans something they’ve been looking forward to for a long time: the first glimpse at the Pushing Daisies comic book, in real color!

Fans of the series will remember this as the little series that almost could, having been cancelled, renewed, and cancelled again due to poor ratings. However, it’s charm and quirkiness has lasted with fans much beyond the series finale, all of whom have longed for some kind of proper resolution to some of the mysteries that never fully wrapped up. Right off the bat there are two images here that are quite exciting to see, even aside from the return of the Pie Maker, his dead girlfriend, and Emerson Cod.

For spoiler purposes, I will not explain any of those, and instead implore you to go buy the DVDs if you haven’t already, because it’s arguably one of the best shows that just never got it’s chance to shine. However, the above image – the first revealed page of the book – should serve as a significant tease both to fans that know what the images mean, and to those who have not experienced the show and are curious about things to look out for.

Either way, look forward to those book from – if memory serves – DC at some point later this year.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
