Today Marvel revealed the first cover and solicit for the major event that is taking place in Amazing Spider-Man: Joe Quesada and Paolo Rivera’s “One Moment in Time” (aka O.M.I.T.). This is the moment many Spider-fans have been waiting for since the launch of Brand New Day, an event that will finally reveal what happened on the day of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson’s wedding that never happened. The first issue will be issue #638, and will feature Quesada writing and Rivera/Quesada splitting art duties.
From a personal standpoint, I’m a bit hesitant about it because Quesada on ASM sends me spiraling back to the dark days of the abomination that is “One More Day”. To me, this is actually not a story I’m really clamoring for, nor am I a huge fan of Quesada’s work as an artist any more. However, it is a momentous occasion for the title and will likely be a huge hit. Here’s hoping it’s a critical success as well as a commercial one.
