20th Century Fox dropped a surprise today with the release of a new “Wet on Wet” Deadpool 2 teaser trailer:

Yes, that is Deadpool as legendary painter Bob Ross. In fact most of this trailer is a trippy tribute/send-up of Bob Ross, with some strange paint color names, blatant “here’s one we made earlier” artwork, and Deadpool straight-up admitting he’s high on cocaine. It cuts to a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it montage of footage from the sequel:

  • Wade Wilson and Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa continuing their torrid love affair in a kitchen.
  • Deadpool – with a duct tape bandage – and Karan Soni’s taxi driver Dop spitting.
  • Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead – now sporting a quiff – giving the finger.
  • Wade launching into a car.
  • Julian Dennison (Ricky Baker in Hunt for the Wilderpeople) apparently displaying pyrokinesis.
  • Zazie Beetz’s Domino bursting through a door.
  • Wade and Leslie Uggams’s Blind Al practicing aiming their pistols.
  • T.J. Miller’s Weasel also cocking his pistol to Dop’s disgust.
  • Deadpool interrupting his own funeral.
  • Deadpool tossing a chainsaw.
  • Microwaved sausages being done.

There’s no sign of Josh Brolin as Cable other than the Thanksgiving poster, which is revealed to be Deadpool Ross’s final painting, and a final shot of his mechanical arm reaching out for a weapon.

Deadpool 2, which sees the return of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and is directed by David Leitch, will be released June 1, 2018. The studio have also released the bizarre new synopsis for the film:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
