Revealed in the backmatter of Casanova: Avaritia #1, Matt Fraction announced that one of his earliest works, Last of the Independents with art by Kieron Dwyer, would be re-released through Marvel’s Icon imprint sometime assumedly next year. It’s alluded to it being a hardcover release, like most of Icon’s releases, and Fraction makes no mention of any changes or re-coloring being done to the title.

For those unfamiliar with the title, here is the old solicit from the AiT/Planet Lar website:

A good man, a bad move, and then all Hell breaks loose: Cole Claudle was just one big score away from his happily-ever-after when everything went off the rails, and fast.

Now, one man’s last shot at the American Dream becomes the first shotgun blast in a mob ware halfway between Vegas and nowhere.

Look for this book from Icon soon. Of course, I suppose there is still also time to get it through a second hand source on Amazon.com, if you don’t feel like waiting.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
