Normally we have an Art Of The Week post, but with David currently in New Zealand we will instead be bringing you art as we get it. And you’re gonna wanna see this one!

Straight off his blog, Francesco Francavilla posted the above pulpy 1930’s Batman. Furthermore, he notes that this may or may not be something in relation to Wednesday Comics 2! As he writes, “with the news coming from ECCC that DC is planning a new season of Wednesday Comics, I feel even more inspired to develop a little more this story, fully packed work schedule permitting.” So… a 1930’s pulp Batman from Francavilla, and maybe a Jeff Smith Superman story? Wednesday Comics 2 already kicks ass and it hasn’t even happened yet.

You can see more of Francavilla currently in Black Panther on a regular basis and Detective Comics #874 (as well as further back-ups in future issues).

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
