Diamond Announces Free Comic Book Summer

After their plans for Free Comic Book May were scuppered by mix fan/retailer reception, and the shutdown, Diamond Comic Distributors have announced the titles intended for this year’s Free Comic Book Day will be released over Free Comic Book Summer, a nine-week period taking place from July 15 to September 9, 2020. The schedule is as follows:

July 15:

– “Power Rangers: The Road to Ranger Slayer”
– “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic”
– “X-Men”
– “Captain Canuck Beyond and Captain Battle”
– “Asterix”
– “The Weirn Books”

July 22

DC’s “Generation Zero: Gods Among Us,” which was originally intended as the company’s main offering this year, is conspicuously absent from the updated listing. The FCBD prelude to Robert Kirkman and Chris Samnee’s “Fire Power” was also not included, although Image announced earlier today it would be released in comic book shops on July 1.
