Friday Morning Cuteness: MRVLCATS

This week’s Friday rec is full of grim, blood, and guts – so let’s change gears a bit, shall we?

You know what I love almost as much as I love comics? Kitties! I’ve made no real secret about that on the site (and if you check our metatext, it becomes even more apparent). I suppose then that this series of art was created specifically for me, and I just have to share it.

As the story goes, Marvel’s Agent M (Ryan Penagos) had a conversation via Twitter with Chris Eliopoulos and Katie Cook about the possibility of a Kitty Avengers book. What happened from there? The most adorable art sequences ever. And it wasn’t long until Skottie Young joined the fray, making this even more awesome than it already was. And just when you thought the adorableness was over, there was also an entry by Lar deSouza. I would buy a Kitten Avengers mini or ongoing faster than I bought the X-Babies book, and that book was hilarious and adorable!

Check behind the cut for some more as collected off of Ryan’s tumblr. I warn you: death by cuteness is a possibility.

COMBO BREAKER: DOGPOOL!

BONUS ROUND: Greg Pak’s HULKAT!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
