Welcome back once again to the best article on the entirety of the internet! Nothing like a good wrap-up, am I right? We had a pretty busy week, filled with lots of news and a change of pace to our usual format. Take a gander behind the cut for all of the exciting things we covered this week.
- We started the week with a late night post announcing Jeff Lemire’s new OGN, the Underwater Welder, to be released in 2010 on Top Shelf. Somewhere, Ponzo and Mocle are hella excited.
- As always, I faithfully brought you the previous weeks movie news round-up, although it was admittedly an uneventful one all things considered.
- Brandon and David returned with their videocast, now searching for a title. It was split up into two posts this week, one for reviews and one for news.
- Gil brings you the latest Smallville review, this time for the episode Conspiracy.
- Quickly after that, Gil brought you the best and the worst of the entire month of February. His best new book choice is quite controversial.
- Walt returns for the second Crisis of Chronology, this time hitting all the important moments of Daredevil. Bendis is proud.
- I returned once more to Multiversity 101 for the first of three articles detailing event comics.
- Burpee brought you another Burpee’s Got You Covered with the oddest choice in cover of the week yet!
- We reported the rather odd news that Geoff Johns and Jim Lee would be live tweeting their readings of First Wave. Huh. Tweeting while reading a comic. How does that work? Or rather, how did that work?
- Because you didn’t have enough Avengers titles to get this May, Marvel announced that we are getting a New Avengers title, and they showed us some members too. Oh, and don’t forget to get Avengers Prime which is basically a Siege epilogue! YAY AVENGERS!
- We shared the news that Rapidshare was axing down on comic book piracy. You guys weren’t happy, and names were called. I’m ok with that.
- David and Brandon reminded you all that if you name their podcast, you win a signed copy of Mouse Guard. They did it twice. See? We give away prizes now! And this was the winner!
- David briefly mused about the post-Second Coming X-Men teaser. There will be blood.
- Stan’s back, and the LA Times calls me a disturbingly obsessed individual. It’s my most proudest moment evers!!
- The Clash at Demonhead release their single online! Or rather, Metric does. Either way, Scott Pilgrim is going to rock.
- We shared the press release Red 5 sent out detailing the graphic novelization of Box 13 by Steve Ellis and David Gallaher.
- I review Jeff Parker and Steve Lieber’s final issue of Underground, much to my own personal enjoyment.
- Chuck’s back, and so is David with a review, although he oddly doesn’t mention what I thought was the biggest thing about the episode.
- Ponzo returns with a Small Press Spotlight for I Killed Adolf Hitler, a book written by a guy doing comics professionally since he was 15.
- Gil shockingly states that the Twilight comic may be a good idea in this week’s Short Report.
- What is HERALDS? was the phrase of Tuesday. Well, THIS is Heralds!
- Marvel teases us with the Fallen. We all uniformly agree that it should be the Sentry.
- Walt gives us a look at where he buys his comics in this week’s LCBS Spotlight.
- The uncovered Blackest Night #8 cover arrives online and everyone but David digs it.
- Peter Parker gets Donald Trump’d, thanks to Mark Waid and the mysterious new Vulture.
- We shared with you a Top Cow press release regarding Angelus #1 and #2 completely selling out. Congrats, Top Cow! Well done!
- As always, this week’s comic list!
- Gil fills in for Crit on this week’s LOST recap. It’s still pretty good. Continued below
- We shared with you a bunch of sneak peeks this week, such as The Flash #1, Siege #3, Detective Comics #862, Vengeance of the Moon Knight #6, Batman and Robin #9, Last Stand of New Krypton #1, and New Mutants #11.
- For this week’s Zuda Weekly, David interviews the writer/creator of Monsterplex, Brock Heasley.
- Did you know you could win a signed copy of Flash #1? No, not from us! Through DC and Twitter!
- Check it out: weekly wednesday reviews! Surprise!
- If you didn’t already know it, there’s going to be second Wolverine film. I bet only I will give it a positive review, just like the last one.
- Smallville was picked up for a tenth season. Gil is so happy he couldn’t even post about it.
- Green Lantern will be in 3D. That’ll be intense, especially on IMAX. It’ll definitely be in IMAX.
- Check it out: a second podcast from Spoiler Alert! YAY!
- Pop! Goes the Icon is going to be at Emerald City Comic Con this year! So are we! How quaint is that?
- Claudio Sanchez and Peter David are combining efforts for a Coheed and Cambria inspired book, Year of the Black Rainbow. It’s a bit expensive though.
- This week, David breaks the mold by recommending three books in his Friday Recommendation all from the late 90’s.
- Behold: all of the Return Of Bruce Wayne covers put together. THEY MAKE A BAT!!!
- David holds a small eulogy for Gail Simone’s Wonder Woman run.
- Finally, we shared with you a press release from Comics Fighting Cancer. Look for more from them on our site soon.
That’s all I got folks! Come back next week!
