Full Roster, Creative Team Revealed For “All New, All Different Avengers”

I’d like to just take a moment to appreciate that fact that I called this entire roster first try. Admittedly, I was expecting it to be Doctor Strange over Vision, but I still said it might be the Vision, so that still counts.

With the gloating out of the way, this… is a weird story. Yesterday, Marvel sent out to two images with the majority of this team blacked out to tease the issue for Free Comic Book Day. Then, like, this just showed up on 4chan overnight (I’m linking to Bleeding Cool purely because Rich linked to the 4chan source because there’s no way in hell I’m for real linking to 4chan) revealing the full roster and the creative team for the issue. Is this a leak? Is 4chan getting exclusive reveals now? Who knows because no one else seems to be talking about it, really.

Regardless, this image reveals the only mystery that remained about the issue: the creative team, and I’m actually pleasantly surprised. Mark Waid and Mahmud Asrar? That’s a creative team I am down with and confirms that Mark Waid is sticking around Marvel for the time being, even after wrapping up his stint on “Daredevil” with Chris Samnee. It will be strange to see Miles Morales be written by someone who isn’t Brian Michael Bendis (although, I wouldn’t be surprised if Miles gets another solo after “Secret Wars” written by Bendis), it’s about time that kid got saved from the mediocrity of the Ultimate Universe.

So, what do you think this means for the Marvel Universe? Obviously, we knew that the Ultimate Universe and the 616 Universe were being “smashed” together, but how do you think the lay of the land will look after “Secret Wars” wraps up?

Alice W. Castle

Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears her, Alice W. Castle is a trans femme writing about comics. All things considered, it’s going surprisingly well. Ask her about the unproduced Superman films of 1990 - 2006. She can be found on various corners of the internet, but most frequently on Twitter: @alicewcastle
