It seems like every day there are ten new hot comic projects showing up on Kickstarter, from both big and small creators. It’s hard to keep track of all of them, but that’s what we’re here for: to guide you, our faithful readers.

Today, we’d like to bring your attention to Reincar(Nate), a graphic novel from writer Michael Moreci (Image’s “Hoax Hunters”) and artist Keith Burns. With just a week to go, it’s a little less than $3,000 under its goal, and with your help it might just make it. So what’s it about? Here’s what Moreci shares on the Kickstarter page:

Reincar(Nate) is a 102-page, full-color graphic novel that tells the story of Nate McCoy, a well-meaning, down on his luck P.I. who has a special ability–he can see and interact with past versions of himself. The people he reincarnated from. With the help of Jameson (a Wild West lawman) and Alan (a 1960s-era hitman), Nate works to solve his latest case, one that digs straight to the heart of the city’s criminal underworld.

If you’re a fan of stylized, character-driven noir in the vein of Chew or Terriers, you’ll find a lot to like in Reincar(Nate).

Having read through the first twenty five pages of the book myself, I can tell you, this project is very well crafted with fitting, atmospheric art from Burns, and by the last page it had its hooks in me big time. It’s well deserving of a contribution if you’re into high quality crime comics with unique high concepts, and if you don’t believe me, check the lettered eight page preview that you can find after the jump. If you like what you see, I highly suggest contributing to their cause, sooner rather than later.
