DC have announced the next installment of Sean Gordon Murphy’s ‘Batman: White Knight’ universe, “Batman: White Knight Presents: Generation Joker.” The six-issue series will follow Bryce and Jackie, the young children of the Joker/Jack Napier and Harley Quinn, after they steal one of the Batmobiles, with only a hologram of their late father to guide them home safely.
While doing so, “the kids uncover a dark secret that could bring their dad back to life for good! With a wild array of Batman’s former enemies and allies on their tails, will the kids succeed in reviving the Dark Knight’s greatest foe?”
Murphy will reunite with writers Katana Collins and Clay McCormack (who respectively co-wrote the ‘White Knight’ iterations of “Harley Quinn” and “Red Hood”) on the book, which will feature art by Mirka Andolfo. The first issue will be released on May 9 with a main cover by Murphy, and variants by Murphy, Andolfo, and Dan Mora.
DC also announced “World’s Finest: White Knight,” which Murphy will write and draw, and which will explore the ‘White Knight’ versions of Superman and Wonder Woman. More details will be announced a later date, although Diana Prince, who is an FBI agent in this reality, will also appear in “Generation Joker.”
Furthermore, the publisher revealed details on May’s relaunch of “Batman: The Brave and The Bold,” announcing the first issue will feature:
– Part one of a four-part Batman vs. Joker story by Tom King and Mitch Gerads
– The start of a new ‘Batman Black & White’ series, namely a cyberpunk story by Dan Mora, in his writing debut
– ‘Down With the Kings,’ a StormWatch segment by Ed Brisson and Jeff Spokes, picking up from the “Wildstorm 30th Anniversary Special”
– ‘The Order of the Black Lamp — Part I,’ a Superman serial by Christopher Cantwell and Javier Rodríguez
The 64-page “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” #1 will be released on May 16, with a main cover by Simone Di Meo, and variants by Jim Cheung, Frank Cho, Bryan Hitch, and Nathan Szerdy respectively showcasing Batman, Superman, StormWatch, and Ravager/Rose Wilson. For more, head to DC’s press release.
