Let’s be honest: as much as we’d like to be completely objective 100% of the time, I think it’s fair to say that most people, when they heard that Men of War and Blackhawks had been cancelled and GI Combat was coming to replace it, probably thought, “Why? Why cancel two war books that aren’t selling well and replace them with another war title?”

The answer: because this war title has DINOSAURS.

GI Combat will be written by JT Krul and illustrated by Ariel Olivetti, and is an update ofThe War That Time Forgot from the 60s with two backups announced: The Unknown Soldier, written by Palmiotti/Gray and illustrated by Dan Panosian, and The Haunted Tank, written by by John Arcudi and illustrated by Scott Kolins. The title is set for release in May, with a cover featuring soldiers fighting dinosaurs by Brett Booth.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
