The A.V. Club have exclusively revealed plans for the “Giant Days” creative team, writer John Allison, artist Max Sarin, colorist Whitney Cogar, and letterer Jim Campbell to reunite with a limited series called “Wicked Things.” The series will take place seven years after Charlotte “Lottie” Grote’s last appearance in “Giant Days,” with her now an adult investigating a new crime plot.
Allison said “Wicked Things” explores how Lottie deals with the events that have cut off the “mainstream path to adulthood.” He added that it takes place “in [the ‘Giant Days’] world, with those rules, but it’s not as safe, or cosy. The guard rails aren’t there,” with the series not being so much a crime noir, but more of a “salute to the crime TV that helped shape [him] as a writer.” Sarin said “I am eager to work on anything new John throws at me, be that chase scenes or horses,” and credited Allison’s writing for helping them grow as an illustrator.
“Wicked Things” will be the latest part of Lottie’s ongoing story, having first featured in Allison’s webcomic over ten years ago, “Scary Go Round.”
“Wicked Things” #1 will be from available in March 2020. In the meantime, you can check out the variant cover and preview pages here.
