Man, Marvel is banking on Chaos War! In the latest installment of “what’s Marvel’s next Chaos War tie-in,” we get a veritable God Squad – and not the one you’re expecting either.
Chaos War’s God Squad, written by Marc Sumerak and arted by Dan Panosian, will feature Damion Hellstrom, Silver Surfer, Sersi, Venus, and the freaking Panther God assembled to take on Mikaboshi and his army of chaos. The comic will be a one-shot and, according to Newsarama, “the God Squad lend a helping hand to the Kami of Japan, who once trapped the Chaos King in the Japanese underworld of Yomi – and sure would like to again.”
It certainly is an interesting team assembled, and is fairly unique in that I’m pretty sure this will be only one of it’s kind on stands. The other books seem to have more marketability than this, featuring dead Avengers and Alpha Flight. The God Squad will be formed in the actual pages of Chaos War by Pak and Van Lente, though, so it could be fun to have a one-shot elaborate on their involvement.
