DC Comics have announced the “Green Arrow 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular,” which — as suggested by the title — will celebrate 80 years since Oliver Queen’s debut in 1941.

As well as Oliver, stories will showcase Black Canary, Connor Hawke, Arsenal, Red Arrow, Speedy, Onomatopoeia, and Count Vertigo. Past “Green Arrow” writers and artists on the book will include Mike Grell, Jeff Lemire, Phil Hester, Otto Schmidt, Ben Percy, Tom Taylor, and Devin Grayson, while the newcomers will consist of Stephanie Phillips, Mariko Tamaki, Ram V, Vita Ayala, Nicola Scott, Chris Mitten, Laura Braga, Max Fiumara, Brandon Thomas and more.

Created by writer Mort Weisinger and artist George Papp for “More Fun Comics” #73 (cover dated November 1941), Green Arrow has proven to be one of DC’s most enduring characters, but he hasn’t starred in a solo comic since the end of his last series in March 2019. The special will be released on June 29, and retail for $9.99.

Like DC’s previous ’80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectaculars,’ the book will be available with variant covers from different artists, emphasizing each decade of the character’s comics:

1940s Variant: Michael Cho

1950s Variant: Daniel Warren Johnson

1960s Variant: Neal Adams

1970s Variant: Derrick Chew

1980s Variant: Gary Frank

1990s Variant: Howard Porter

2000s Variant: Jen Bartel

2010s Variant: Simone Di Meo

The variants will be revealed by DC on a later date.
