Remember “Superman/Batman?” That was a fun comic. Launched by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness (responsible for this week’s wonderful “Nova”), the book eventually featured different creative teams offering fun, short and sweet team-ups between DC’s two mightiest heroes. It was definitely a fun title to read along with.

Now DC is bringing it back (as revealed at USA Today) with a new coating, and ow it’s “Batman/Superman,” and it features Greg Pak (fresh off a stint at Marvel with “X-Treme X-Men”) and Jae Lee (fresh off “Before Watchmen: Ozymandias”). The book will deal with the early days of their careers and the development of their relationship with one another as budding heroes. Continuity hounds will likely have a difficult time swallowing that pill after reading “Justice League” #1, and I for one am looking forward to the angry internet fanboys.

This’ll be Pak’s debut at DC and we’re all big fans of him here at Multiversity, so we’re hoping for nothing but the best. Or rather, expecting. Because, you know, it’s Greg Pak and Jae Lee. What’s not to like?

Look for the book in June.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
