Announced this past weekend (and revealed at CBR), it appears that despite reaching its finale at the hands of creator Tim Seeley, seminal comic series “Hack/Slash” will be reborn in “Son of Samhain,” written by the “Hoax Hunters” duo of Michael Moreci and Steve Seeley and illustrated by Emilio Lasio. Currently planned as a five-issue series with room/hope for more, the book once again stars Cassie Hack, picking up a few years after the finale of the series and the character we meet is an older one. The series will feature a new cast of characters and potential partners for Cassie, as well as featuring covers by artist Stefano Casseli and a variant (featured above) by Cameron Stewart.

Oh. And monsters. Lots of monsters.

Moreci also teases the potential of “Hoax Hunters” crossover, which was originally a back-up in the series at Image before spinning off into its own book, so that seems sure to grab the attention of some fans.

Cassie Hack returns in July.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
