The writer behind “Ice Cream Man,” W. Maxwell Prince, will be teaming up with a host of artists for his new ongoing anthology horror series, “Haha.” Each issue will be a standalone story featuring a clown in some capacity, with Prince promising to explore more genres than just horror in his new series.
“I don’t like clowns, so I thought it’d be a good idea to write about them,” said Prince. “What a gas, to get to partner with some of comics’ best to tell these ditties about a bunch of real jokers.”
It’s been confirmed that Vanesa R. Del Rey (“Redlands,” “Spider-Woman”) will be illustrating the first issue with Gabriel Walta (“Vision,” “Sentient”) and Roger Langridge (“Thor,” “Popeye”) waiting in the wings for future issues.
Prince is well known for his brand of experimental storytelling, with his Image debut “One Week In The Library” acting as an exploration of graphical mediums, while his critically acclaimed ongoing series “Ice Cream Man” uses a similar style of linked anthological storytelling to interrogate different avenues of art and genre in horror comics.
“Haha” #1 releases January 13 with a cover by Del Rey.
