Oni-Lion Forge Publishing Group have announced that Sierra Hahn will be their new editor-in-chief, effective immediately. “For 25 years, Oni has defied convention by publishing comics and graphic novels for readers of all ages that subvert expectations and drive new readership,” she says in the press release. “I’m ecstatic to collaborate with a passionate team of editors and storytellers to build on Oni-Lion Forge’s success and produce bold, groundbreaking, and inspirational stories for generations to come.”
Hahn had previously served as the Executive Editor of BOOM! Studios since 2015, and is also a veteran of Dark Horse and DC Comics, starting her career in DC’s publicity department in 2005, before joining Dark Horse two years later as an editor. Her credits include “Slaughterhouse-Five,” “Once Upon a Time at the End of the World,” “Faithless,” and “The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.” Her hiring comes shortly after Hunter Gorinson was named Oni’s president and publisher in December, which in turn had followed a difficult year for the publisher, that saw the lay offs and departures of many prominent staff members. Sarah Gaydos had previously served as Oni’s editor-in-chief from 2019 to 2021, during which time the publisher merged with Lion Forge.
