Dark Horse and 343 Industries are releasing a new Halo tie-in series, focused on a previously unknown mission of noted sniper Linda-058. Writers Guild Award-winning video game writer Anne Toole (Horizon Zero Dawn, The Witcher) will join artists Kieran McKeown (“White Canvas”) and JL Straw (“Back to the Future”), as well as colorist Dan Jackson (“Call of Duty: Zombies”), to bring Linda’s exploits to the printed page. The miniseries will also feature covers from Christian Ward (“Black Bolt”), the first of which was revealed at ComicBook.com.

“‘Halo: Lone Wolf’ finds Linda on a dangerous covert mission without her team,” says the Dark Horse press release quoted at ComicBook.com, which broke the news. “Her skills in infiltration and marksmanship make her perfect for the high-stakes mission to end the threat posed by a wanted scientist on a distant planet. With only an ONI AI at her side, Linda must fight through both the dregs of the Covenant and the hostility of a lost human settlement to stop the rogue scientist in his tracks.”

“Halo: Lone Wolf” joins a long list of licensed Halo comics from a variety of publishers, the most recent of which was Dark Horse’s “Halo: Collateral Damage.” “Collateral Damage” finished its run earlier this year and will be collected in December, while “Lone Wolf”‘s first issue drops just afterward, on January 2, 2019.
