No plot details were given on the book, written by Robert Venditti, with art by David Lapham, and lettered by Simon Bowland, but the title character was first announced as starring in a back-up (or ‘B-Side’) to one of Bad Idea’s upcoming books by Venditti, Lapham, and colorist Jose Villarrubia in December. Venditti is also writing the series “Tankers” at the company, which debuts next week.
Yesterday’s press release states, “April Fool’s Day is stupid. We at Bad Idea are determined to end its reign of terror. That’s why today we are taking the unprecedented step of making an actual, real life, honest-to-goodness announcement on this day of lies.” The book will be only available for 24 hours, and retailers will have to send back any unsold copies to Bad Idea.
The announcement is in-line with Bad Idea’s specialist approach to selling their titles: there are only 200 comic book stores in the world that stock their books, a list of which you can consult at their official website.
