Our 2011 Publisher of the Year Image Comics is having a big day today, and it has nothing to do with creating undead versions of old titles or angering legendary creators! Today is the 20th Anniversary of Image, and they look like they’re celebrating in high style with books like Invincible, Fatale, Reed Gunther and The Strange Talent of Luther Strode being released today.
Really, if you look at that list of books that arrived in shops this week, you can see what Image does better than anyone: creating a line-up of diverse, dynamic and absolutely superb comics. If this is what 20 years looks like for Image, I can’t wait until we see them at 30.
