On Wednesday, “Harley Quinn” #50 will hit comic shops. The oversized ‘anniversary’ issue will feature a number of iconic artists from DC’s stable, playing around not just with Harley, but with the larger DC Universe and even the Multiverse. This is due to the presence of Jonni DC, as well as Harley having, kinda, sorta, broken continuity. Over the next few days, we will be revealing a few of the myriad creators stepping into this issue, written by regular series writer Sam Humphries. Today, we feature someone who first drew Harley back in 2009 – Guillem March!

Here is what March had to say about returning to the character:
Harley has been like an old friend to me since I first drew her in “Gotham City Sirens.” I´m frequently contacted by Harley fans and it´s easy to understand why she´s so popular. She´s always exciting to draw because you don´t need to stick to a superhero pose or keep any kind of transcendent glaze in her eyes like you do with other more divine characters. Harley is crazy and fun – all is permitted. Even, well, crying a bit – because crazy characters can be human as well.
I don´t want to spoil anything, but if you can think of another character as crazy as Harley – well, HE´s also featured in my pages. Mixing those two has been a blast, I can only thank Sam for writing this stuff and the folks at DC for letting me draw it!
Humpries had this to say about why March was a good fit for these pages:
This was one of the trickiest sequences in the whole art jam, a real stylistic challenge. Alex Antone and Andrea Shea knew the perfect artist was right under our noses the whole time – our own cover artist! And damn were they right. Guillem grabbed the challenge by the horns and did an outstanding job. Also, one of my favorite Easter eggs in the whole book – hint: follow the hippo.
Make sure to check back tomorrow, when we can exclusively reveal another artist featured in the book. And thanks again to DC for providing this exclusive for Multiversity.
