At approximately 1:00 a.m. today, comics legend Harvey Pekar was found dead by his wife Joyce Brabner in their Cleveland home. Pekar, who lived to 70 years old, had been battling various ailments for years, but currently the cause of death is unknown. Pekar is most well known for his series American Splendor, an autobiographical account of his life in Cleveland illustrated by the equally famous Robert Crumb and many others. In 2003 the series was loosely adapted into a biographical film of the same name, starring Paul Giamatti as Pekar.
