According an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Moreci and Vic Malhotra’s “Roche Limit” is being adapted into a feature film by Heavy Metal. This is not the first big announcement from Heavy Metal this week as they earlier revealed that Grant Morrison would become the new Editor in Chief of the magazine. The “Roche Limit” film will be written by Leatherface screenwriter Seth Sherwood and is apparently being fast tracked a bit so this is something we should expect to see sooner rather than later.

“Roche Limit” is an amazing comic and really a perfect film concept. The story takes place over three miniseries (one completed with one ongoing now) and it follows a colony in far space situated near a space anomaly. The first miniseries, the one this film is going to adapt, tells the story of Sonya Torin, a woman at the Roche Limit colony searching for her sister. She gets help from Alex, a drug manufacturer who’s being chased by some of the worst criminals at the colony.

This is the second of Moreci’s work that’s being adapted to film. “Hoax Hunters” is also getting the film treatment. “Roche Limit” volume one is available to buy now and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. It’s one of the most interesting series I read last year and it’s very exciting to see this make the jump to film.
