Hell Yeah Shaking Some Things Up In September

Everything is always “all-new” and “all-different” in comics these days, as different angles are explored to bring in new readers. It’s something the Big Two are especially guilty, but lately different books at Image Comics have used the same mentality as a humorous way to poke fun at an industry trend and maybe get in a few new readers while they’re at it.

So with that in mind, who better to “relaunch” his title than avid industry lover (and MC Favorite) Joe Keatinge?

With more details located over on his tumblr, Keatinge announced a few changes that were coming to his book this September with #6 and the start of a new arc. Starting with issue #6 (cover pictured above, a play at the books first issue cover), Fabio Redivo will now be the official inker of the book over Andre Symanowicz, and interior colorist Jason Lewis will now be coloring the covers as well. Not only that, but none other than Ron “Mr. iFanboy” Richards will be joining the book as an editor to give a second pair of eyes on the story, since all Image books do not come with editors unlike at other publishers.

As Keatinge writes,

I’ve always viewed the first storyline, LAST DAY ON EARTHS, to be a bit of an extended origin story for Ben. This next one, EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS RIGHT, is very indicative of what the series will be like going forward. And it’s to a very different place.

I’ll put it like this, if LAST DAY ON EARTHS was the child of early 90s Image Comics, EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS RIGHT is what happens when the kid grows up and is on their own. You’ll see what I mean when it hits in September.

Look for Hell Yeah #6 in September. Issue #4 went on sale last week, and contained “Tiger Lawyer” and “Baby Girl” back-ups. What more do you want?

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
