Everyone loves Jonathan Hickman. He’s Marvel’s big heavyweight this summer with “Infinity,” his Image books are selling like hotcakes. Now, in addition to writing all your other favorite comics, he’s heading to Avatar to get his gruesome on with “God Is Dead.”

Announced at Bleeding Cool, the book is illustrated by Di Amorim and will run six issues starting in September with covers by Hickman. The book tells the story of “gods returning to modern day Earth and dealing with what’s been happening in their absence,” with man rebelling against them. It sounds rather Hickman-y already, so I’ll venture a guess that you’ll probably love this if you like all his other stuff.

And from Hickman in regards to the cover credits:

The book debuts in September. Get your pre-orders in early.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
