About this time of the year, comic information maven Rich Johnston is working into overdrive with scoops of San Diego Comic Con announcements, and this morning he had a few doozies. The first one we’ll look at is something that is remarkably exciting: Jonathan Hickman and Carlos Pacheco starting up an Ultimate Thor title.
With Hickman’s star rising as fast as any creator in the industry (with Johnston even giving him the heady praise of being the “natural successor to Alan Moore”), any announcement with his name on it will earn the surrounding excitement. Pairing him with a creator whose work has long been praised and seems such a natural fit to an Ultimate Thor title like Pacheco would be is just genius by Marvel.
While Marvel has yet to officially announce this, I’m sure I speak for the whole of Multiversity in saying this book better be real. If it is, it’s going to be spectacular.
