Marvel Comics have announced that a new 3-part miniseries, “Hulkverines,” will debut in February from writer Greg Pak and “Weapon H” artists Ario Anindito and Guiu Villanova. Anindito will illustrate #1 and #3, Villanova will illustrate #2, and Greg Land will be providing the series with its cover artwork.
The “Hulkverines” miniseries will see the recently resurrected Wolverine team up with the Hulk to fight in the “Battle of the Century” against Weapon H. For those wondering who Weapon H is, he is a soldier called Clay, who, during the ‘Weapons of Mutant Destruction’ mini-event, was part of an experiment that spliced his DNA with that of Wolverine and the Totally Awesome Hulk, Amadeus Cho, which resulted in him becoming a new super-soldier. He has the abilities of both characters, as well as a skeleton bonded with adamantium. Earlier this year, Greg Pak and Cory Smith launched the spin-off series “Weapon H,” which follows the character as he tries to put his life back together after overcoming the Weapon X brainwashing inflicted upon him.
Following the announcement of the series, Pak took to Twitter to describe the series as “BIG RIDICULOUS FUN WITH TREMENDOUS HEART.” Pak also confirmed Weapon H’s solo title concludes with issue #12 in January, and this is where fans should expect to see the character for now.
“Hulkverines” #1 is scheduled for release on February 20. The full press release is as follows.
