Dy-no-mite! Dy-no-mite!
A modern day Blaxploitation parody/satire, Michael Jai White’s Black Dynamite is perhaps one of the funniest movies of the past few years, taking an already humorous genre and flipping it on its head for a modern audience in a script that’s funny, relevant, at times poignant and fairly gut-busting in its humor. And now, after getting an Adult Swim cartoon (from the people who made the Boondocks, no less), Black Dynamite is coming to comics thanks to IDW.
We’ve had a Black Dynamite comic before, but it’s very hard to come by – either you grabbed it at the right time or you didn’t. And after the hilarious movie and cartoon, you can’t help but have high hopes for the return of Black Dynamite. As long as Michael Jai White is involved, this can’t go wrong.
And if you’ve never seen the cartoon or the movie, you’re missing out.
Details are pretty scarce right now, but we’ll be watching the story as it develops. For the full press release from IDW, please see below.

He’s the biggest, baddest, meanest, most not to be trifled with dude in the history of the universe and he’s coming to comics! Such superlatives could only describe one man. A former CIA agent and expert in all disciplines of international ass kicking and a thirst for the sweet nectar of justice, hero to the downtrodden, sworn enemy of the man… BLACK DYNAMITE!
IDW Publishing is thrilled to announce that the multimedia sensation will be coming to comic shops everywhere this September in a suitably explosive new miniseries!
Details are forthcoming, but readers are to be warned: something badass this way comes!
