IDW Publishing have announced “Voyage to the Stars,” a four-part miniseries by writer James Asmus (“Quantum & Woody”) and artist Connie Dadione (“Tainted Love”) based on the popular podcast of the same name. The first issue will feature multiple covers; two by Freddie E. Williams II, one of which is a retailer incentive ink wash cover, and one by interior artist Dadione.
The podcast is a comedy series about a crew that has survived the destruction of Earth, only to find themselves in opposition to an evil intending to destroy the rest of the universe. It stars Colton Dunn (Superstore), comedian Janet Varney, and Felicia Day (Supernatural). According to Asmus, the comic series will be a chapter “that is simultaneously a meaningful time for our heroes (grieving the loss of Earth, and taking the first steps towards avenging it),” but also “a self-contained quest across a pretty wild sampling of the Voyage universe!”
Podcast creator Ryan Copple said in a statement, “It has been such a wild ride experiencing Voyage to the Stars’ evolution and development into other mediums, such as comic books,” adding, “The world we built is meant to be experienced in many different ways, allowing fans everywhere to engage with these stories however they want.”
“Voyage to the Stars” #1 will be released in August. In the meantime, you can check out Dadione’s cover and preview pages over at press release.
