The hipster is as ubiquitous to modern culture as Norman Osborn was in Marvel Comics during Dark Reign. Whether it’s the plaid button ups they wear or the PBR tall boys they drink, hipster culture is quickly seeping into all facets of society.
Now, thanks to College Humor, it’s making its way into comics. CH contributor Caldwell Tanner posted a series of images that reimagined various superheroes (Iron Man, Aquaman, Xavier, Hulk, Wonder Woman, Batman and Spider-Man to be exact) much to my delight. Spider-Man is particularly inspired, with everything from Spidey’s dress to his mannerisms to the photography bent being alternately true to the character AND hipster culture. It’s amazing.
