Announced today from Image, there’s a brand new giant-size comic that I think you’re going to want to pick up if you happen to be heading to San Diego this year.
Entitled “Giant-Size Kung Fu Bible Stories,” this oversized treasury comic edited by Erik Larsen and Bruce Timm will be released for SDCC. While those two names alone are probably enough to sell most of you on the anthology book, it gets even better when you hear who else is involved: Adam Warren, Tom Scioli, Ryan Ottley, Andy Kuhn and Arthur Adams.
I’ll give you a minute to collect yourself. Go on.
With seven stories from seven talented creators that has apparently taken multiple years to put together according to the press release, it’s an exciting prospect indeed. Who doesn’t want to have a giant comic with some Art Adams artwork inside? Whoever that is, I don’t want to be their friend.
The book is massively over-sized and rings in at $20, but given the artists involved in this book this seems like a convention must-have.
In addition to that, Image has revealed the rest of their convention exclusives, including early releases of “Low,” “Warrior Chicken Poyo” and an exclusive edition of the new “Supreme” comic by Warren Ellis and Tula Lotay. “Low” and “Poyo” go on sale the following week, so this is your first chance to grab exclusive editions of them and brag to your friends.
Image is also bringing out a few of their vaunted exclusive hardcovers for books like “Deadly Class,” “Rocket Girl,” “Witch Doctor” and more, so if you’re a fan of what Image has brought with them to cons in recent years, prepare to feel spoiled again. They all cost a bit of money, sure, but bragging rights are priceless.
