Assumedly related to something that will be announced at Image Expo later this week, Image has released the above image that is an allusion to “Invincible” #1, Robert Kirkman’s big superhero series at Image created with Cory Walker and taken over by Ryan Ottley.

Blacking out Invincible in this image is interesting, as “Invincible” itself has actually gone through a few moments of “bold new directions” and new #1s, including the “Invincible Returns” one-shot (where he returned to his original costume), Invincible changing from Mark Grayson to Zandale Randolph (aka Bulletproof), and “Invincible” #101 even being branded as the first issue of a new era as a joke at all the relaunches.

So what’s up with “Invincible” now? I guess we’ll find out Thursday.

Updated: Now with more “Startling.”

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
