With some fans hemming and hawing about the released images for Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Thor film, today they released an image that has bolstered the esteem of fans throughout the world. This image (off to the left) is a fairly simple one, but one that is powerful in its simplicity.
It’s just Thor (Chris Hemsworth) looking EXACTLY like Thor as he pulls Mjolnir from a stonepile, but there is something epic about all of the elements of the imagery – the rain, Mjolnir itself, Hemsworth straining to lift it, his overall look. For how inorganic the previous images looked, this one feels based in reality and more powerful because of that.
