At Image Expo today, Nick Dragotta revealed that “Howtoons”, his DIY comic that helps people of all-ages learn about science, will be moving to Image with the help of writer Fred Van Lente, artist Tom Fowler and colorist Jordie Bellaire. But what’s it really all about? From the Howtoons site:

What happens when you take a comic book artist, an inventor, and a toy designer? You get Howtoons. Our mission is to provide engaging content that teaches kids how to build things, combining instructions with storytelling. Howtoons has a foundation of science and engineering education, inspiring creativity through art and imagination.

The inventor and toy designer are Saul Griffith and Ingrid Dragotta, and “big kid” Joost Bonsen is also involved, and all in all this sounds like a wonderful endeavor. An all-ages book that comes from a bevy of top notch creators AND teaches kids science? We really can’t wait for this, folks. Check out some character models for “Howtooons” leads Tucker and Celine below, and thanks to Tom Fowler for sharing!
