Agent M over at Marvel had been teasing via a puzzle a brand new image, and today the final put together image was revealed on Marvel: the brand new MODOK design! Oh yeah!
Those of you following World War Hulks know that at the end of it, MODOK and the Leader – the duo behind the Intelligencia – were both depowered and left under the care of Bruce Banner in brand new high-tech prisons. Since then, George Tarleton has been a mess, recently reappearing in Hulk #28 as he attempts to give Banner some advice about the Scorched Earth initiative unleashed at the end of WWHs. Now, with Hulk #29, it looks like MODOK 2.0 will appear, although if this is still Tarleton or not is still yet to be confirmed.
Marvel certainly has their little love affair with MODOK going, having him appear as a wacky character in Marvel’s What The-? videos as well as bringing him back as a foe worth discussing with Loeb’s Hulk run after years of no one really caring about him. With Parker getting massive acclaim from everyone for his ingenuity at turning around Thunderbolts and his Hulk run just now beginning to pick up towards the end of it’s first arc, it looks like it’ll be a good year for Jeff Parker. I’m also incredibly glad to see Hardman still having solid work with Atlas being canceled, and it should be fun to see Rulk go up against MODOK.
Of course, no matter what, it’s still not as cool as the Mental Organism Designed Only For Cuteness.
