I’ve never seen xXx, but I know a little about it and it’s sequel. I can’t really tell you much, so instead I’ll let you know that Marvel has hired on the screenwriter of xXx, Rich Wilkes, to write their Iron Fist movie.

An Iron Fist movie is definitely an interesting choice for Marvel to make, and it as well as the previously announced Doc Strange film will be the first two that are co-published with Disney. However, it’s nice that Marvel is really putting forth the energy to get this film done, and one can only hope that it will fit into the larger Avengers continuity that they’ve been establishing in the film world. Marvel does love their characters, and Iron Fist has shot up in popularity in the past year thanks to excellent work by Matt Fraction and Ed Brubaker. The character is also slated for a new book by Fred Van Lente as a team up with the new Power Man.

Keep your eyes peeled for any additional news we get on the flick, and hopefully Isaiah Mustafa can play Luke Cage in it.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
