In news broken last night, much to the delight of yours truly, Shane Black, the director of Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, the movie widely credited with helping to bring Downey back into the limelight, has been officially hired to helm the third movie in the Iron Man franchise.
As the writer of the Lethal Weapon series, and the writer/director of the incredibly witty and action packed Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, Shane Black is just about as good a replacement as you can get. As much as I love Favreau’s take on Tony Stark, I am now eagerly anticipating the next Iron Man movie.
Iron Man 3 is currently set for a May 2013 release.
