Update: Ryan clarifies on Twitter that these were just samples he did for the last series when pitching to be on the book. Too bad. We would’ve loved a Ryan Kelly illustrated “Dollhouse” series.
Original article: Instagram is a wonderful little app, because not only can you see updates from people you may never have met and be updated 24/7 with what food they are eating or how cute their pets are, but you can follow artists to see work in progress pieces and con sketches. It’s fun if you’re a comic fan, even more so if you’re an art fan.
And wouldn’t you know it, artist Ryan Kelly of “Saucer Country”, “Cocotte”, “Funrama” and more uploaded some photos onto Instagram last night:
That very much looks like Eliza Dushku from Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse, and the setting looks very much like the Dollhouse itself. Heck, that shot in #4 is the chair they go into to be imprinted.
So: “Dollhouse” v2, coming soon from Dark Horse Comics with Ryan Kelly? Or at the very least a one-shot. Perhaps with Andrew Chambliss, Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon back on writing again.
We’ll let you know more as soon as we do.
