Is the DCnU Shazam Actually the Flashpoint Shazam?

In Flashpoint, Geoff Johns re-introduced Captain Marvel in the alternate universe with a bit of twist: instead of just being Billy Batson magically transformed, Shazam was made up of several children who each represented one of his core elements (wisdom of Solomon, strength of Hercules, stamina of Atlas, power of Zeus, courage of Achilles, speed of Mercury). All things considered, it was probably one of the cooler new elements from Flashpoint (even if it was a bit Captain Planet-y).

Then at NYCC, it was teased that Geoff Johns, along with artist Gary Frank, would be adding a back-up for Justice League entitled “The Curse of Shazam”, re-introducing Big Red to the DCnU. Everybody cheered because everybody loves Captain Marvel, as well everyone should.

Now, in Justice League #2, we have a confidential transcript of a dialogue between Captain Steve Trevor and Amanda Waller, which includes this little bit:

Waller: And there are these strange reports from several men and women across the world. People with absolutely no connection to one another who claim to have been abducted by a wizard and tested. Tested to see if they are worthy of something called “Shazam.” They’re calling them magical abductees.

So, if we put two and two together as us fans often do, is it safe to say that combo Captain Marvel will be returning for the DCnU?

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
