It’s a Kirkman World and We’re Just Living In It: “Outcast” Goes into Production at Cinemax

I sure hope you enjoyed “Outcast” #1, as the comic from Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta – which already had a option in place for film/TV rights – is now officially having its pilot moved into production at Cinemax.

The comic, which follows Kyle Barnes as he deals with an epic amount of demon shenanigans, was actually a very enjoyable read, and continues Kirkman’s rather epic life streak as his comics are guaranteed production deals effectively after the massive success of “The Walking Dead.” In this case, Kirkman wrote the pilot and will be an executive producer on the project, and more so than maybe anything else he’s written, this has great potential as a TV show (especially considering the strange love for exorcism stories people have).

The announcement came via a tweet from Kirkman, because Twitter is the new Sports Illustrated article, and highlights a little bit of what we know to be true – Kirkman is still a pretty damn cool guy even though he’s a mega star:

“Demons are the new zombies”, huh? Hard to disagree with that. More on this as it develops though, but congrats to Kirkman and Azaceta on the news.
