Back at NYCC, James Robinson accidentally let it slip that he’d be the one writing the Hawkman book post-Brighest Day. While we’re waiting for news on the assumed Aquaman, Firestorm, and Martian Manhunter ongoings, it looks like the artist of the book has been revealed: Philip Tan!

According to a report over at Bleeding Cool, Philip Tan will be taking over the artist duties of the yet-to-be-announced title. It makes sense to me, as Tan is quite the talented artist. He drew one of my favorite arcs in Green Lantern, as well as the incredibly fun second arc in Batman and Robin. I approve.

When does the new book come out though? Unknown at this time. I’m going to throw a guess out here and say closer to when Brightest Day ends, so keep your eyes open for that announcement in a few months, and thank Robinson for his eagerness in spilling the beans of the upcoming book.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
