Jean Grey Is Back In Age Of X

The second historical log for the Age Of X has arrived online, and it’s a bit of a doozy. The image above accompanies the piece, but the accompanying text does in fact identify the identity of who is weilding the Phoenix Force here:

The mutant abilities of a young woman named Jean Grey manifest in the form of an explosive, fiery Phoenix that immolates everything in it’s path. The city of Albany, New York is decimated, leaving 600,000 dead.

Jean Grey has been rather notoriously dead, so to have her come back like this is sort of an “all bets are off” moment for characters. We noted yesterday that with a new universe, there is new rules and plenty of wiggle room to incorporate every character – but with Jean around, causing the death of 600,000 people, it’s no wonder why everyone hates mutants in the Age of X.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
