We all love Jeff Lemire, right? “Trillium” is only a couple issues in and it’s already an intriguing and compelling look at how people interact with each other and the idea of transcendent love. And books like “Sweet Tooth” and “The Underwater Welder” weren’t too shabby either, right? Well, Lemire himself announced on his blog that he will be publishing his next graphic novel through Simon & Schuster and Simon & Schuster Canada.
Lemire’s next graphic novel will titled “Roughneck” and might be the most Canadian graphic novel to ever exist. “Roughneck” follows Derek, a disgraced NHL player who returns to Ontario and reunites with his sister. Much like his previous creator owned works, “Roughneck” looks to be a very personal story for the characters and an exploration of their own faults and their connections to others. While Lemire may be working hard with the New 52, it’s always nice to know that his brilliant creator owned work is still coming.
As always, be sure to check out the announcement over at Lemire’s blog for more information on “Roughneck”.
