Reports coming out of the Jeff Smith panel at Comic Con bring some of the best news you’re going to hear all day: that there is new “Bone” in the works. What exactly it is is unknown, but Smith has apparently confirmed that they are not more prose novels in the Spark series nor are they sequels. Rather, this is some other form of story all by Smith set in the “Bone” world, and for that we shout: ooohhhhh yeeeaaaahhhh!

There will also be an IDW Artists Edition of “the Great Cow Race,” and Smith is apparently working on a new online serialized graphic novel entitled “Tuki Save the Humans,” set 2 million years ago in Africa. From Bleeding Cool:

Boneville.com will be serializing Smith’s new project – Tüki Save the Humans – Africa is in huge drought about 2 million years ago, lots of animal and /proto-humans now extinct. Tüki is the first human to try to leave Africa. It features spirit gods, early people doing their best to keep Tüki from leaving. Australopithecus sidekick named Lucy for Tüki

So: two new things from Jeff Smith. I’m not sure there’s a gif on the internet that properly encapsulates this kind of excitement.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
