Paolo Baron and Ernesto Carbonetti are getting the band back together, as the duo behind “Paul is Dead” are reuniting for “Jim Lives: The Mystery of the Lead Singer of The Doors and the 27 Club.” The original graphic novel builds off of the popular conspiracy theory that Jim Morrison of The Doors never died, and has actually been living a secret life away from prying eyes. This is the second book in the pair’s trilogy focusing on popular music conspiracy theories, and will be published by Image Comics. It is set to be released on June 16th, and will be available in bookstores on June 22nd.

The graphic novel follows a man searching for his son, who has vanished after seemingly discovering that Jim Morrison is alive and hiding in Italy. Now the search for answers is on, but could there really be some truth in this wild conspiracy? When asked about his process for writing the book, writer Paolo Baron said “I wrote ‘Jim Lives’ by continuously listening to The Doors vinyl records while I was in the small village where I set the story. At one point I really saw him. I mean Jim.” Artist Ernesto Carbonetti added that “I love to draw the small towns of the Italian province made of stone walls and roads that line the sea. While I was working on ‘Jim Lives’ I felt there.”

The duo’s previous book, “Paul is Dead,” was similarly themed, as it focused on the theory that Paul McCartney of The Beatles fame passed away and was replaced with a body double. That title was well-received upon its release last year.
