Dark Horse have announced the continued adaptation of Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden’s novel Joe Golem and the Drowning City with another comic miniseries, “Joe Golem: Occult Detective—The Conjurors.” Writers Mignola and Golden will reunite with artist Peter Bergting and colorist Michelle Madsen for the five-issue series.

Set in an alternate 1975 where Manhattan is submerged under thirty feet of water, ‘The Conjurors’ #1 will pick up from where last year’s “Joe Golem: Occult Detective—The Drowning City” left off. It follows a 14-year old girl, Molly McHugh, and her employer, Orlov the Conjuror, a celebrated former stage magician turned psychic medium. After one of Orlov’s séances goes terribly wrong, he is kidnapped by strange men in gas masks. Molly then finds herself on the run and happens upon a mysterious man and his sidekick, who goes by the name Joe Golem.

Now, Molly has been captured by the villainous Dr. Cocteau’s gas men. Will Dr. Cocteau be stopped before he finds the artifact he seeks? And is Joe Golem really dead? Is he more golem than man? And what is lurking in the tunnels of lower Manhattan?

“Joe Golem: Occult Detective—The Conjurors” #1 is scheduled for release May 15, 2019. It is 32 pages long and will retail for $3.99.
