So who had money on Joe Madureira being that artist for Matt Fraction’s “Inhuman” (announced yesterday) because I sure as hell didn’t. For those of you who missed it, “Inhuman” is a retooling of the Inhumans which will be coming later this year after Jonathan Hickman’s “Infinity” does it’s thing to the Marvel Universe. Fraction will also be writing the “Inhumanity” event, no artist announced for that, which will show the Terrigan Mists being unleashed on Earth and the number of Inhumans increasing tenfold.

And today, over at PopWatch, Marvel announced that Joe Madureira will be joining Fraction on “Inhuman” with that cover up there. Joe Mad is an interesting choice for the book and certainly not someone I would have pegged for it yesterday. For a book purported to be an extended metaphor about race, gender and sexuality, it’ll be interesting to see how he portrays that.

So what do y’all think? Are you happy the Inhumans are getting a spotlight again? Are you mad that Marvel is stealing the spotlight from the X-Men? Engage in a dialogue already!

Though, something interesting to be noted, is that Fraction is already writing three books for Marvel (“Hawkeye”, “FF” and “Fantastic Four”) and will have three Image books by next year (“Satellite Sam”, “Sex Criminal” and “ODY-C”). Now, either Fraction has invented a perpetual writing machine or that’s a lot of books to be working on. Will we be seeing him leave something? The most recent solicit for “FF” did mention something about ‘beginning of the end of everything’, after all. Will Fraction pass the torch on the Fantastic books to focus on “Inhuman”? Am I being overly speculative? Are these questions just padding?

No one knows!
